We enjoy an active puppet ministry at Smyrna. We received a permanent home in the fall of 2003 when we moved into an old kitchen. The serving counter is our stage and we slide open the serving doors and perform for an audience in the old fellowship hall.
Our shows are for all ages. A typical performance includes songs, a Bible Story, a social issue (a skit about friendship, lonliness, etc), and a comedy skit. We make almost all of our own puppets, props and write or adapt all of our skits.
Our repetoire also includes Worship Puppets. These puppets perform during worship on special occasions. They do not speak, but dramatize one of the scripture readings as it is read.
