TITLE: Bunny Hop

STORY SUMMARY:  Can be done with practice puppets or slinky puppets.  Puppets dance to song.  Practice puppets work if this will be used as a filler skit between acts.

 

CRUX OF STORY/LESSON:  Just for fun

 

PUPPETS

PUPPETEERS

1.      Practice puppet(s), plain

2.      Practice puppet(s), with bunny ears

3.      Practice puppet(s), with bunny ears and tail

OR

1.      Three Slinky puppets (Slinkies painted with fluorescent paint and with a base and rod, to manipulate puppet, attached on each end.  Puppet can be covered with nylon hose dyed in a fluorescent color.  Also, slinkies can have a black thread attached to their middle and put over the upper stage.  This string can be pulled to make the slinky puppet move up and down.)

OUTLINE OF STORY:

PROPS / ACTIONS:

Practice Puppets

·        Play song intermittently during show.

  1. Plain practice puppet(s) comes across stage dancing to music.
  2. Next, practice puppets with ears
  3. Then, puppets with ears and tails.

·        Lights come up and music starts

·        Do #1.  Lights go down and music fades

·        Repeat for #2 and #3 between different acts in puppet show.

Slinky Puppets

·        Slinky puppet on center stage dances the bunny hop.

·        Black lights are turned up

·        Slinky is on stage

·        Music starts

·        Slinky puppet on one side peeks up from under stage then pops up and begins dancing.

·        2nd slinky puppet enters

o       If it has a string attached, pull it up to peek over stage, then drop down.

o       Eventually, have it pop up and join in the dance

·        Slinky puppet on other side peeks up from under stage then pops up and begins dancing.

·        Puppets dance wilder as music progresses.

·        Stop on beat.

·        3rd slinky puppet enters

o       If it has a string attached, pull it up to peek over stage, then drop down.

o       Eventually, have it pop up and join in the dance

·        End music on beat (before song ends, if you like)

o       Lights go off at same time
