PUPPETEERS

1.      Three Slinky puppets (Slinkies painted with fluorescent paint and with a base and rod, to manipulate puppet, attached on each end.  Puppet can be covered with nylon hose dyed in a fluorescent color.  Also, slinkies can have a black thread attached to their middle and put over the upper stage.  This string can be pulled to make the slinky puppet move up and down.)

a.      One smaller slinky puppet (made from a mini-slinky)

1.      Black lights

2.      Eyes on slinky in middle

3.      Tape of circus music, “Thunder and Blazes” also known as, Entry of the Gladiators

4.      Ball painted with fluor­escent paint attached to a black stick.

 

 

OUTLINE OF STORY:

PROPS / ACTIONS:

·        Ball on stage bounces to music intro.

·        Black lights are turned up

·        Ball on center stage

·        Music starts

·        Slinky puppet on center stage dances and tries to stand on ball

·        1st slinky enters

o       If it has a string attached, pull it up to peek over stage, then drop down.

o       Eventually, have it pop up and join in the dance

·        Slinky dibbles ball, tries to stand on it.

·        Slinky puppet on side peeks up from under stage then pops up and begins dancing.

·        2nd Slinky puppet knocks ball out from underneath 1st slinky and dribbles it stands on it, etc.

 

·        2nd slinky puppet enters

o       If it has a string attached, pull it up to peek over stage, then drop down.

o       Eventually, have it pop up and join in the dance

o       Slinkys pass ball back and forth

·        Ball leaves stage

·        3rd (smaller) Slinky puppet comes up in center stage

·        3rd slinky tries to turn over by lifting one leg up and over the other (to one side)

 

·        Ball exits

·        Third slinky enters

o       1st & 2nd slinkies watch 3rd and rise up with it as it lifts its leg

o       This goes on several times and small slinky finally turns a side flip.

·        Slinkies go wilder as music progresses

o       Stronger shaking, up and down movements, etc.

o       End with all three having legs stretched out in mid-air.

 

·        Slinkies grow wilder

·        Music ends, lights go out.
