STORY SUMMARY:  Puppet misunderstands John 14:6 and is set straight by another puppet.

OUTLINE OF STORY:

PROPS / ACTIONS:

·        Boy Puppet enters and is all excited about what he has learned in Bible Exploration.

·        He can’t wait for his friend to arrive.

 

·        Puppet enters lower stage

·        Puppet is wearing a swimming mask

 

·        Girl puppet arrives

·        Boy puppet has studied hard and can’t wait to tell her about what he has learned this month.

·        Girl puppet asks why he is wearing a swimming mask.

·        Boy explains that he has learned all about this from his Bible Study.

·        He is wearing a mask because he learned today that…

o       Jesus is the Bay!

o       And he is ready to swim to him!

 

·        Girl puppet enters.

·        Girl puppet explains that Jesus is the Way, not the bay

·        Boy puppet asks if she is sure.

·        Girl says ”yes” and explains that we come close to God by following Jesus, so Jesus is the Way to God.

·        Boy says he understands now.

 

·        Girl puppet looks at audience then back at boy puppet

·        Boy says he has learned something else about Jesus, though that he wants to share with her.

 

·        Boy puppet exits

·        Boy returns with a magnifying glass.

 

·        Boy puppet returns.

·        Boy starts looking around with magnifying glass.

·        Girl asks what he is doing now.

·        Boy says that he also learned today that…

o       “Jesus is the sleuth.”

o       Boy also says, “You know, a detective.”

 

·        Girl explains that Jesus is the Truth, not the sleuth.

·        Boy puppet asks if she is sure.

·        Girl says ”yes” and explains that Jesus did not come to help us figure out who God is, like a detective.  He came to show us who God is by loving us.  That is the truth.  God is love.

·        Boy says he understands now.

 

·        Girl puppet looks at audience then back at boy puppet

·        Boy says he has learned something else about Jesus, though that he wants to share with her.

·        Boy puppet exits

·        Boy returns with a kite.

·        Girl asks what he is doing now.

·        Boy says that he also learned today that…

o       “Jesus is the Kite.”

o       Boy says, “you know, he gives us a lift”

 

·        Boy puppet return.

·        (Kite can be on a string that goes over the upper stage.  Pull kite up onto lower stage with string)

·        Girl puppet explains that Jesus is the Life, not the Kite

·        Boy puppet asks if she is sure.

·        Girl says ”yes” and explains that Jesus does more than give us a lift to make us feel better.  He gives us life in heaven after we die.

·        Boy says he understands now and agrees that is much better

 

·        Boy puppet says that maybe he had better go back to learn some more about how Jesus is Way, the truth, and the Wife.

·        Girl agrees that he still has a lot to learn.

·        Boy and girl exit talking
