Narrator introduces story to audience: · This is a story from the gospel of John · Jesus tells his friends o Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. · Why is Jesus telling them not to worry? |
· Lights on lower stage · Jesus enters · Jesus pantomimes words to the audience. |

· Discuss how he will soon go to the cross and die. |
· Cross enters lower stage to the side |

· Jesus wants to comfort his friends, so he says to them, o In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. |
· Jesus goes near the cross · Jesus pantomimes words to the audience. |

· Is his Father’s House in Nazareth? |
· Cross exits · Nazareth enters lower stage · Jesus looks at it and shakes head “No” |

· Is his Father’s house in Waynesboro? |
· Nazareth exits · Waynesboro enters lower stage · Jesus looks at it and shakes head “No” |

· Where is his Father’s house? · Jesus’ father is God so his house is in heaven! |
· Waynesboro exits · Heaven enters on upper stage · Jesus looks at it and shakes head, “yes” |

· Is his house big or little? Hear these words from Jesus: · If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? |
· Cross enters lower stage · Jesus exits lower stage · Jesus appears upper stage next to heaven |

· And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also. |
· Cross exits · Jesus exits upper stage & enters lower stage. |

· Jesus wants us to have faith and not be troubled about his death. Now here’s the tough question. What place does Jesus go to prepare for us? |

· A place with wild animals? |
· Elephant enters and introduces herself. · Jesus looks at it & shakes his head No |

· A place with lots of garages and cars? |
· Enter car. · Jesus gets in car and rides · Jesus gets out and shakes his head “No.” |

· A place with T.V.s and computers? |
· Enter T.V. and Computer · Jesus looks at it & shakes his head No |

· Then what does Jesus prepare for us? |
· Jesus exits |

· Jesus returns (lower stage again) and starts bringing up a place setting. · Jesus sets a dinner place on stage |
|
· What does Jesus prepare for us? · A place at the table. |
·

|
· When Jesus celebrated his last supper with his friends, he promised that he would eat with us again in God’s kingdom, God’s house, when he returned. So he is making room for each of us at God’s table. He is preparing a place just for you and me. |
· Jesus exits and returns with communion cup and bread |

· Narrator thanks audience. |
· All exit. Lights go down. |
