OUTLINE OF STORY:

PROPS / ACTIONS:

Narrator invites the children to come forward and play the part of Jesus disciples:

·        Now, the eleven disciples went to Galilee to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them

·        Lights come up on lower stage

·        Narrator calls children forward

·        When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.

·        Jesus enters lower stage

·        Jesus said to them:

·        Jesus acts out words of narrator

o       All authority on heaven

·        Heaven appears on the upper stage with keys hanging from it.

·        Hand with white glove appears on upper stage and takes keys then exits

·        Heaven exits

o       And all authority on earth

·        Earth appears on the upper stage with keys hanging from it.

·        Hand with white glove appears on upper stage and takes keys then exits

·        Earth exits

o       Has been given to me

·        Hand appears on lower stage and gives keys to Jesus

o       Go therefore

·        Jesus motions for audience to “go”

o       And make disciples of all nations,

·        “All nations” prop appears on upper stage

·        Jesus motions toward it

o       Baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

·        “All Nations” prop exits

·        Jesus motions toward the font

·        Narrator opens baptismal font and uses free hand to cup water and pour it back into the font with the mention of each name of the Trinity.

o       And teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.

·        Jesus exits and returns with a Bible

o       And remember, I am with you always

·        Jesus points to himself then to each of the children in the audience

o       To the end of the age.

·        Jesus exits.

·        (Perhaps, put a black string on the head of the Jesus puppet and string it over the upper stage before the skit begins.  The puppeteer may slip his/her hand out of the puppet at this time, and pull the puppet up behind a cloud to exit, ascension style.)
