OUTLINE OF STORY:

PROPS / ACTIONS:

  1. I know an old lady who swallowed a fly.  I don’t know why she swallowed a fly…I guess she’ll die.

 

·        Old lady puppet enters.

·        Fly enters and buzzes all aound.  The old lady has to move fast

 

2.      I know an old lady who swallowed a spider, that wiggled and jiggled and tickled inside her.  She swallowed the spider to catch the fly, but I don’t know why she swallowed the fly…I guess she’ll die.

 

·        Enter spider.  Old lady swallows spider but loses fly while she wiggled and jiggled and must recapture the fly.

 

  1. I know an old lady who swallowed a bird.  How absurd to swallow a bird.  She swallowed the bird to catch the spider, that wiggled and jiggled and tickled insider her.  She swallowed the spider to catch the fly.  But I don’t know why she swallowed the fly.  I guess she’ll die.

 

·        Old lady sneaks on unsuspecting bird and swallows it.

·        Each time she swallow something she gets a little bigger.

·        She wiggles and jiggles

·        She puts her mouth over animal and pushes it down off stage to swallow it.

 

  1. I know an old lady who swallowed a cat.  How about that, to swallow a cat.  She swallowed the cat to catch the bird, etc.

 

·        Old lady woos cat (“here kitty, kitty) and swallows it.

·        Props fly from behind stage.

·        She wiggles and jiggles

 

  1. I know an old lady who swallowed a dog, my what a hog, to swallow a dog.  She swallowed the dog to catch the cat, etc.

 

·        Old lady plays with dog, then swallows it.

·        Wiggling and jiggling interrupts swallowing.

·        Comes up from behind stage with a dog leg hanging out of her mouth.

 

  1. I know an old lady who swallowed a goat.  She just opened her throat, and in walked the goat.  She swallowed the goat to catch the dog, etc.

 

·        Old lady swallows goat.  Fly escapes again through open throat, she chases fly and recaptures.

·        She continues to get bigger.

 

  1. I know an old lady who swallowed a cow.  I don’t know how, she swallowed the cow!  She swallowed the cow to catch the goat, etc.

 

·        Cow enters opposite old lady.  Old lady goes into an all out chase after cow, cowboy style.

·        She stops to wiggle and jiggle.

 

 

  1. I know an old lady who swallowed a horse…She’s alive and well of course. 

 

 

·        Horse enters.  Old lady immediately swallows.  She gets the hiccups.  Fly escapes.  Song ends with her hiccuping and the animals escaping.  She gives chase.
