STORY SUMMARY:  Commercial.  Narrator sells puppet on a sock knocker-offer.  Puppet then knocks socks off other puppets

OUTLINE OF STORY:

PROPS / ACTIONS:

·        Puppet complains about being bored and that nothing exciting never happens.

·        Lights come up.

·        Puppet is on the lower stage

·        Narrator asks audience, “Are you bored?

o       Puppet answers, “Yes!”

·        Narrator asks, “Do you feel like no­thing exciting ever happens to you?

o       Puppet answers, “Yes!”

·        Narrator tells audience, “Then you need our newest product, guaranteed to knock your socks off!

o       Puppet asks, “What is it, tell me what it is!”

·        Narrator enters and talks to audience

·        Puppet responds like part of the audience.

·        Narrator says, “It’s…

o       Puppet, “Yes…yes…!”

·        Narrator, “A Sock Knocker-Offer”

o       Puppet it disappointed

o       Puppet complains, “That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.”

·        Narrator pulls up a sock knocker-offer

·        Narrator talks to puppet, “Oh is that so?  Well watch this.”  Narrator zaps puppet.

·        Puppet’s socks fly out from the stage toward the audience.

·        Narrator zaps puppet.  Make appropriate noise.

·        Carefully toss a pair of baby socks form behind the stage.

·        Puppet is amazed and wants one.

·        Narrator gives puppet one

·        Puppet knocks socks off a friend who goes and tells a teacher.

·        Teacher comes and takes puppet to the principal’s office.

·        Narrator give sock knock-offer to puppet and exits.

·        Friend enters and asks puppet what he has.

·        Puppet tries to tell friend but ends up showing him by knocking the friends socks off.

o       Make zapping noise

o       Toss socks from backstage

·        Friend calls teacher

o       Teacher enters

o       Teacher takes #1 to principal

o       All exit

·        Action ends off stage in principles office.

·        Principle asks to see what puppet’s new toy does.

·        Puppet tries to warn the principal

o       Zapping noise is heard

o       Socks fly out from stage

o       Shouts and screams are heard

·        Narrator returns and promotes product saying that it will change your life… (More shouts and exclamations from off stage)…forever.

·        Stage is empty lights are still up

·        Scene in principal’s office is off stage

o       Make zapping noise

o       Toss socks into audience

·        Narrator exits

·        Lights go out.
