STORY SUMMARY: 

Puppet is on the way to school and meets some people she knows a little bit and some strangers.  She calls “Stranger” when one makes her feel uncomfortable and an adult comes to help.

 

CRUX OF STORY/LESSON: 

Never go with a stranger.

OUTLINE OF STORY:

PROPS / ACTIONS:

·        Mother sends daughter to school and tells her to be careful.  She reminds her to yell, “stranger” if anyone tries to hurt her or makes her uneasy.

·        Lights come up.  Tree is on stage

·        Mother and Daughter are on stage.  Mother is sending daughter to school

·        Mother exits.

·        Daughter goes to school and meets an acquaintance.  He asks her to go to the mall first on the way to school. 

o       She asks audience what she should do.

o       Daughter says no, he leaves

o       Daughter reflects on boy

§         She didn’t like what he said but he did leave

§         She remembers what her mom told her

·        Enter school Acquaintance

·        School acquaintance exits.

·        Daughter meets someone who says he knows her mother.  He offers to give her a ride to school.

o       She asks audience what she should do.

o       Daughter says no, he leaves

o       Daughter reflects on man

§         She didn’t like what he said but he did leave

§         She decides to tell her teacher what happened when she got to school

o       She remembers what her mom told her

·        Enter family acquaintance

·        Exit family acquaintance

·        Snake comes up behind tree as other puppet exits.

·        Daughter meets a snake.  The snake says he is cold and asks her to pick him up so he will be warm.

o       She says no

o       Snake persists and keeps getting closer

o       Daughter is feeling uneasy.

o       She can’t remember what her mother told her to do so she asks the audience.

o       She remembers and yells, “Stranger!”

·        Snake comes out from behind tree.

 

·        A Coach from school appears and tells snake to go away.

·        He asks daughter if she is all right

·        Daughter says that she is.  She recognizes the coach and thanks him.

·        Coach tells her she did the smart thing by calling stranger.  He tells her to get on to school and tell her teacher what happened.

·        Coach enters

·        Snake exits.

·        Daughter exits

·        Coach reminds audience what to do in a similar situation.

·        Lights go down.
