OUTLINE OF STORY:

PROPS / ACTIONS:

Scene 1 -- Dad Announces Family Trip

·        Dad gathers family to discuss vacation

·        Dad says they’re going to a place that starts with a “D”

o       Daughter guesses “Disney”

o       Mom guesses “Dolly World”

o       No, they’re going to Dooms!

·        Family is uncertain but Dad is sure they will have a good time.

·        Lights come upj

·        Dad on stage.  Dad calls rest of the family up

·        Lights go down.

Scene 2 – Train ride to Dooms

·        Family admires sights on way to Dooms

·        Cat meows

·        Daughter complains that she has to go “Wee.”

·        Dad says they are almost there.

·        Daughter insists they stop

·        Dad calls for train to stop.

·        Lights come up

·        Family on train (lower stage)

o       Train hangs in front of stage

o       Tree pass by on upper stage as skit progresses when train is moving.  Tree shakes to a stop when train stops.

·        Train stops

·        Daughter gets out and jumps around saying, “Wee!  Wee!” and get back in the train.

·        Dad sighs, Cat meows.

·        Train starts again

·        Tree shakes to a stop when train stops.

·        Tree begins moving again.

·        Train enters Dooms then leaves Dooms.

o       Daughter reads sign #1

o       Daughter reads sign #2

·        Family calls for train to go back

·        Family is in Dooms!

·        Sign #1 moves across stage

·        Sign #2 immediately follows.

·        Train stops and reverses

·        Signs come back the other way.

·        Lights go down.

Scene Three  -- Family in Dooms

·        Family arrives at KOA campground in Dooms

·        Dad tells family to pitch tent then leaves

o       Mother & Daughter pitch the tent back and forth

o       Dad returns and asks what they are doing

o       Family responds they are pitching the tent.

·        Lights come up

·        Family in campground

·        Dad on stage calls family up

Family decides what to do next

·        Mother & Daughter go to Antique Store

·        Dad goes to speedway

·        Cat takes fishing pole to river

·        Mother and Daughter exit

·        Dad exits

·        Cat exits with fishing pole

·        Lights go down.

Family returns

·        Mother & Daughter return from store

o       Daughter has large glasses

o       Mom has feather boa

·        Dad returns from speedway with hat

·        Cat returns with swordfish

·        Lights come up

·        Mother & Daughter return with items

·        Dad returns with hat

o       All eventually ask about cat

o       Cat returns with swordfish

Scene 4 – Train Ride Home

·        Family talks about fun they had.

·        Mom says good-bye to river and says she’ll miss the sound of running water

·        Daughter says she won’t and asks the train to stop because she has to go wee!

·        Dad says not again!

·        Cat meows.

·        Lights come up

o       Family on train (lower stage) facing the other way

o       Family wearing the clothes they got on the trip.

o       Cat has fishing trophy.

·        Tree passes by on upper stage

·        Lights go down.
