appreciate all the gifts of the Christmas story Including:

The witnesses to his
birth.

The fulfillment of
God’s promises to all people
MATERIALS:
·
Large Christmas wrapped boxes (with removable lids) and gift tags on them
·
Christmas tree in room and other Christmas decorations
·
Gifts (to be put in the wrapped boxes) which correspond to the learning
outcomes listed above.

Angel (who appeared to Mary)
2.
Diaper bag with baby supplies
3.
Manger
4.
Angels who appeared to the shepherds
5.
Bible

Baby Jesus
PLAN:
·
Decorate the temple room for Christmas
·
Put each of God’s gifts (listed under materials) in a wrapped box under
the tree.
·
Welcome explorers; go over memory verse.
·
Explorers take turns picking a present (the gifts do not have to be
opened in order).
o
Explorers reads who gift is to (see below) and tries to guess what the
gift may be.
o
After the explorer who picked the present makes a guess, and after
everyone one else makes a guess, read the scripture reference on the gift tag
and try to decide who has guessed correctly.
·
Unwrap (take top of box) each present one at a time and discuss each
gift.
·
Go on to next explorer. That
person picks another gift. Continue
until all the gifts have been chosen
·
Close in prayer. Thank God for
all the gifts of Christmas and all the gifts of life including the explorers.
