Ideas for Dramatization — David & Goliath
A few points
to consider as you set this story to a current setting:
i.
A bully in school
ii.
An unfair teacher
iii.
A business that plans to turn a
park into factory
iv.
An inexperienced player or team
facing the champions
v.
Ask the explorers for their ideas
or experiences.
|
1.
Goliath challenges Israel |
1. The
challenge you identify |
|
2.
The Israelite were afraid to
face Goliath because:
|
2. Identify the fears your challenge raises |
|
3.
Saul encourages David to use his
armor. But David finds courage in his
past experiences and not Saul’s. |
3. What are
some past experiences which you can draw on to find your courage in God? |
|
4.
David uses a sling to kill
Goliath |
4. What are
resources that you have that you can use to face your challenge? |
4. Put together a short dramatization of your story. Act it out!
· Use Costumes and props
· Change roles to let different explorers tackle the same challenge (they can come up with a different solution, a different way they would handle the problem).
· Discuss
5.
Dramatize
another “challenge” if time allows.
6.
End in
prayer. Thank God for challenges that
allow us to put our faith into action.
Ask for the courage to face them.
