MATERIALS:

through Jerusalem

PLAN:
Intro.
Find Memory verse in Bible, review
·
Introduce
explorers to computers.
·
Explain
purpose and use of computers
·
Divide
into two groups. Kids take turns to do different
parts of CD
·
One
group works through sections (listed below) on the CDrom Pathways Through
Jerusalem. (20 minutes)
·
The
second group works through sections (listed below) of the CDrom The Life of
Christ (20 minutes).
·
Groups
then switch.
·
If
time allows, show the visual Via Delorosa on the Pathways CDrom
to the both groups at the same time.
Discuss.
·
End
in prayer.
Pathways Through Jerusalem
Tour Jerusalem with Raphael
(Right column, middle row of Tour guides).
Have a different explorer take a turn with each section of the
tour. (20 minutes)
·
WATCH INTRO: (First
explorer sits at computer, others watch)
·
Pause
presentation (pass mouse over guide’s name and click on pause (between the left
and right arrows) and ask these questions:
1.
What
did Christ do to upset the authorities (those in charge)?
2.
Why
did Jesus do this?
3.
Do
you sometimes upset your parents, teachers, etc? Why?

Start
tour again (pass mouse over guide’s name and click on right arrow).

Watch
this section. Also, click on video
camera at end of section to see a short video on the Lord’s supper. Pause the presentation and discuss the
following questions:

the presentation and discuss the following questions:

Begin with map tour of Passion week in
Jerusalem. Then, follow with lesson 34
and 35. End with two matching games, Road
to the Cross and Jesus is Alive for ever and ever. Have a different explorer take a turn at the
computer with each section. (20
minutes)

MAP TOUR OF PASSION WEEK IN JERUSALEM: (First explorer)
·
Start
in office and click on globe. This
takes you to the geography index. Click
on Passion Week in Jerusalem.
·
Move
through days of week. Afterwards
discuss what we mean by the phrase Passion Week. Discuss each day:
1.
Sunday (Jesus enters Jerusalem, Palm Sunday)
2.
Monday (Jesus “cleanses” temple)
3.
Tuesday (Jesus taught in temple
court. He took his followers to the Mt.
of Olives and taught them about the last days.
4.
Wednesday (no record. What do you think they were doing?)
5.
Thursday (Maundy Thursday. Jesus’ Last Supper followed by his betrayal and
arrest in the garden of Gethsemane).
6.
Friday (Good Friday. Jesus interviewed by Pilot and Herod. Jesus crucified and buried. Notice mention of Via Dolorosa.
7.
Saturday (Jesus body in the
tomb. Where were his followers?)
8.
Sunday (The woman find Jesus tomb empty. Jesus is Risen! He appears to them and others.)

LESSON 34 and 35: (Next explorer takes turn for #34 and another for
#35)
·
Go
back to office. Click on orange
crate. Choose lesson 34. After lesson, answer the question and take
the quiz as a group. Do the same for
question 35 with a new explorer at the computer.

(lesson 35): The road to Emmaus
story. Why shouldn’t the disciples have
been surprised at Jesus’ resurrection?
