always patient, always kind, ready to change your mind and not punish."

3. Art Center	Forgiving Others
5. Puppet Center	Accepting Forgiveness

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

• To accept forgiveness from God and others.

MATERIALS:

• Puppet Stage
• Puppets
• Props

PLAN: Have explorers sit in a circle as they arrive.

• Welcome children
• Go over memory verse
• Divide up parts (e.g., Jonah, God, sailors, king, etc.) and have explorers pick a puppet and / or prop that goes along with it.
• While still in a circle, act out the Jonah story with puppets and props
• Have someone (Teacher or helper) narrate the necessary parts.
• Discuss emotions (“How would you have felt? How can the puppet express that emotion?)
• As questions (e.g., “Why did Jonah do this…?”
• After practicing in circle, perform puppet play from behind the stage.
• If time allows:
• Prepare skit to perform in church for children’s sermon
• Make your own props (boat, etc.)
• Have explorers change roles and do the play again.
